Many students already struggle with the financial burden of studying full-time and are forced to supplement their income by working either during term time or in the summer months. At present, every student is exempt from paying the Council Tax but the SNP controlled Scottish Government want to introduce a Local Income Tax that would hit 55, 000 students with a new financial burden.
