Policy passed at Winning Liberation

The disabled students caucus at Winning Liberation 2011 had a thorough discussion about policy areas to focus on in the year ahead.

The policy passed in the caucus can be read below:

Disabled Students' Caucus Policy

• Campaign to increase disability disclosure on our campuses
• To work with our Student Unions to protect University Disability Services from cuts
• Work University Disability Departments and our Students Unions to improve monitoring and support of disabled students
• Feed into the National Policy Review on all areas of Disability, paying extra attention to mental health issues
• Campaign to educate and increase people's understanding of mental health disabilities and what it is like to suffer from a mental disability
• To recognise that University lifestyle can often lead to mental health issues and to organise appropriately
