Conference 2008

ICCLabour Students Conference took place from Friday 29 February to Sunday 2 March 2008 at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

Held alongside Labour Party Spring Conference, LS Conference heard from guest speakers including Foreign Secretary David Miliband, Communities Secretary Hazel Blears and Europe Minister Jim Murphy - and held policy sessions with Ed Miliband, the man tasked with writing Labour's next election manifesto.

Members also heard the inspirational speech from Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and his call to action to all of us to "build the Britain of our dreams" (watch the PM's full speech here).

Conference also elected next year's National Committee and passed policy on tackling climate change, justice for women in Iran, child poverty and postgraduate funding.
