Scottish Labour Students

SLS ConfScottish Labour Students is an important part of Labour Students, existing to take account of differences of government and politics in Scotland.

Scottish Labour Students brings Labour values to campuses and represent students within the Labour Party throughout Scotland. We hold regular Scottish events including SLS Conference and SLS Council. In addition, our members are often invited to hear major speakers at Labour Party events throughout the year and are involved in Labour Students meetings around the UK.

Our events give members an opportunity to make their voice heard in the Labour Party’s Partnership in Power process and to create our own policy.

Scottish Labour Students is also a campaigning organisation, proud of its values. SLS  members have been at the forefront of campaigns for Labour in local authority, European, Scottish and General elections.

As well as campaigning for Labour, we run our own campaigns on issues students care about and were at the fore of the Make Poverty History campaign on campus.

Welsh Labour Students

Wales campaigningWelsh Labour Students is  affiliated to Welsh Labour and is the umbrella organisation for Labour Clubs based at universities in Wales.

WLS organises across Walesa, from Cardiff to Llanelli, from Swansea to Wrexham. We fight for Labour values, to support Rhodri Morgan's Administration in the National Assembly, and to expose the Tories' lamentable history of running down Wales and their lack of support for devolution. In addition we are a key part of Labour Students and campaign outside of Wales with the rest of Labour Students.

At the Welsh Assembly elections in May, Welsh Labour Students campaigned across Wales to return Labour AMs to Cardiff Bay. We put in hundreds of campaign hours, delivering leaflets, phone canvassing and pounding the streets. We work in partnership with local parties and with our friends in the wider Labour movement to ensure that progressive values frame the Welsh political debate.
